Laurie Tucker's 12-Part Video Series
My next stage of healing, equivalent to adolescence and early adulthood, has been to consolidate all I have learned and to find my place in this world, in this time. Learning to live in the present is perhaps less challenging than recovering memory, but the work of realizing I am safe continues. I am slowly learning about the joy of living without the constant presence of fear and woundedness.
These videos offer a continuing conversation about what it means to live your best life after surviving abuse—your best life, in spite of the scars and diminishment that abuse leaves in its wake; your best life, while acknowledging the grief and anger that still remain; your best life, as you find more joy, more compassion, and more engagement with the world. I hope you find these thoughts useful as you continue down your healing path. I walk with you, in joy and solidarity. Blessings for the journey. |
